dude u get hit in an F-150 your fuckin done

mikxr on 27 April, 2008 at 8:09 am #

its not always the impact that hurts you, the rate of deacceleration also comes into play, a big car with more sheet metal to absorb some energy before coming to a final stop is much preferable imo, a little bit more fuel is a small price to pay for more safety imo.

genjishikibu on 27 April, 2008 at 9:12 pm #

The Smart is designed as a runabout in cities. In Europe, many city streets look like a rabbit warren, so driving your ‘Yank tank’ around them is out of the question!

I’m not sure I agree with the presenter’s logic for not buying a Smart, i.e. that you should buy a bigger car for safety. Result= everyone gets bigger and bigger cars, and no one is any safer!

Didn’t you guys learn from the Cold War that upping the ante doesn’t guarantee safety?

In a vehicle-vehicle crash, the larger car usually wins. So the obvious answer is to always have a bigger car than the other guy.

I need one of these in the back of my pickup for when I run out of gas since the fuel empties faster than the gauge can keep up with it!

calvinyuenblinke on 3 May, 2008 at 5:48 pm #

Same with other cars.

azgurmamed on 4 May, 2008 at 7:13 am #

try to crash it in 100 miles in hour then you will see the bread.

guitarnoob14 on 5 May, 2008 at 5:27 am #

when i saw the car at 0:24 i though some1 had just put a flat tire on, taken the bumper and bonnet off and the drivers side door. i was suprised when it showed the exact same car in the test, unbelievable

spitfire2002 on 6 May, 2008 at 10:55 pm #

that sounded like plastic when it first crashed!!

yreguy on 9 May, 2008 at 12:38 pm #

I recently took a test drive! The smart car rep drove it as hard as he could! came to a full stop in about 50 feet from 35 mph and took a hard turn at 30. went 65 and maintained control on a normal city street… never even kicked in the ESC! :)

I’m not sure where you got that I was being offended by the use of the word ***. I was offended by your lack of regard for the English language, and the fact that you don’t actually have any other insults in your arsenal.

slimbothetiger on 16 May, 2008 at 11:07 am #

i am 6feet tall, that would make it very painfull for me and my legs!

burnout8488 on 17 May, 2008 at 7:18 pm #

It doesn’t look like the cabin was affected much at all.

Jordan454545 on 21 May, 2008 at 5:45 am #

The “shock absorbers” on the wall represent the crumple zone on the other car…

CDTbossy on 22 May, 2008 at 10:52 am #

darthlolle on 23 May, 2008 at 4:17 pm #

xzadious on 29 May, 2008 at 2:38 pm #
