plus Clint Eastwood(who directed Letters) didn’t make those Japanese speak English even though it’s an American film because he wanted to make the movie as accurate to the Japanese history(during WWII) as possible and make it FEEL like you’re watching the Japs during that time of period so he made them speak their own tongue, JAPANESE
