WHAT!? 1978!!!! What happened!? whats going on here?!?!

ssssroryssss2 on 29 February, 2008 at 7:24 pm #

These are the single biggest threat to the oil industry, extremely cheap and a hydrogen ehgine could potentially be far more powerfull than a petrol engine. Lets hope that these cars come out soon!

bernzeppi on 4 March, 2008 at 1:43 am #

Oil gone to $40 a barrel.
Check out TED lectures, Larry Burns talks about GM’s hydrogen fuel cell car.
Toyota has had one for ages.
I hope US congress forces the big three to go green as they promised. Hmm, politician… promise.
I wont hold my breath.
People say I look like Jack Nicholson.
GoodAnya Nicholson!
Good onya, get it…
oh well.

hardactinman on 5 March, 2008 at 9:32 pm #

Why put solar cell on the car also?

Consider any processed food screws up the sheople’s thinking, mercury in flu shots screws up thinking, mercury in your mouth screws up your thinking, too much sugar screws up your thinking…get the picture the public is about as intelligent as a hamster, because their brains have been fried by chemicals. This has been done on purpose, subversion really *****. very tough to prove.

HAMFARPICTURES on 9 March, 2008 at 11:47 pm #

in what way then ?

CoolBlondGirl123 on 10 March, 2008 at 11:48 am #

BrianHamiltonTV on 13 March, 2008 at 5:58 pm #

My thoughts as well ;-)

bernzeppi on 15 March, 2008 at 8:18 am #

Yep, is good, but it turned out more expensive than thought, that’s why the wait.
GM Have hydrogen powered cars in California and a number of fuel stations to go with it as a test of concept.
Sadly oil dropped to below $60 a barrel this week, so Hydrogen is not economically attractive again, damn.
In ‘78 there was a fake oil crisis. There was also a denim shortage, jeans prices went through the roof. Denim is made of cotton, how dumb is the public?

thisnow1 on 17 March, 2008 at 4:30 pm #

“this’ll revolutionize suicide” hahahaha

HerschelKrustofski on 18 March, 2008 at 10:16 pm #

actually it was easy to put down, the oil companies with their comfortable relationship with the car companies have continually put down hybrid, electric, and hydrogen cars, as well as alternate energy sources. they have held us back to continue their record breaking profits each year as the HALT the progress that is necessary for our survival

keonewstuff on 21 March, 2008 at 11:40 pm #

I wonder why Jack hasn’t pushed this anymore? Has he? I mean, don’t get me wrong but there are some things I just have no way to know. So if anyone has any info reply to this simple statement.

WryGrin on 24 March, 2008 at 2:52 am #

… green cars in 1970-something… and yet we’re still pumping out gas-guzeling Hummers for urbanites… WHY?????? We all know why… but it still *****… GO GREEN DANG IT!!!!!!

iamafractal on 26 March, 2008 at 4:28 am #

or after. if you look up team microjoule and the shell eco marathon, you’ll find that in 2006 that team won a race for MPG and got over 10,000 miles per gallon on gas. Another team got over 11,600 miles per gallon on Hydrogen. ECD Ovonics developed batteries that would let your car have a 1000 mile range, but Cheveron now owns that company. don’t worry, they’ve stopped working on that battery technology now.

donkeyfly69 on 26 March, 2008 at 12:22 pm #

jack nicholson get’s cooler everyday

frankg203 on 27 March, 2008 at 12:22 pm #

The technology will not come out because the oil companies have the car industry on lock down. Yeah they might give us a break on prices every now and then but we can’t determine those prices until we get them off our backs. Any technology that comes out gets bought up by the oil giants before its patented.

raconter1 on 29 March, 2008 at 11:49 pm #

The ideas were out there, but the engaged management was not. We pay and they pay the price! The Middle East would be a different place right now if we had explored this technology. We had a fuel crisis in 1974 but did not heed the warnings. So now the whole world pays for their stupidity! Jack

shyboy2cute on 31 March, 2008 at 1:31 pm #

wow they have been putting off this hardware for a long time probably since i was in the womb. dam mofos

bpfox77 on 2 April, 2008 at 1:54 am #

This is EXACTLY why the automakers should be left to rot. They’ve been shoving the same crap down our throats for years.

First since CNN

theebz1 on 10 April, 2008 at 4:09 am #

exactly right! a car running on electricity has very low maintenance due to the fact that it does not require a drive train. A motor can be incorporated in each wheel and controlled via microprocessor to deliver a more powerfull and efficient handling vehicle.

theebz1 on 12 April, 2008 at 1:18 am #

since Jack’s project presumably some time ago going off the amount of hair on his head and the model of car used, not to mention the sunnies, the efficiency of electrolysis, where water is split into hydrogen and oxygen, has become so much more efficient using simple electronics together with an advanced fuel cell to the point where the energy (as hydrogen) produced is much greater than the amount of energy (as electricity) required to produce it. The third industrial revln is beginning now!

popupwool on 14 April, 2008 at 1:33 pm #

I drive around with a Pontiac Firefly which gets me 50 to 60 miles per gallon! A one(1) litre,3 cillinder engine. You have to be NUTS to haul around a ton or two of metal around and pay for the gas!
