Linux is free, doesn’t mean it will replace expensive Windows desktops.
If you haven’t got a viable business plan making profit just like other car companies do you will not get more funds, you will not get more associates, or more engineers, to keep on getting bigger.
People vote with their money and with that money the company can trash it or putting it back in the company.

Chateanomas on 14 January, 2009 at 11:08 am #

The point of all these ” millionaires” as stated on the report and as it is in life itself. These individuals just want to make more millions, their intention is not to benefit humanity, only to make profit out of the situation. If their intention was to help, then they would allow a big company to mass produce these vehicles at affordable rates. Of course profit would still exist but minimal Not what they intend to overcharge.

i wish i had the money to by shares in tesla, when all the wells are dry and gas trades strait across for gold and cocaine it will be a great day for tesla, everything is clear in hindsight

boxa888 on 17 January, 2009 at 10:17 am #

guys look up what nikola tesla was going to do with the wardenclyffe tower, the tower would have been a wireless power system used to power everything using the earth as a wire and even inductive grounding for cars!! so then theres no need for charging either lol, i put up info if you are interested!

ycats1000 on 17 January, 2009 at 10:33 pm #

lithium is one of the most abundant resources around…

plus you can recycle batteries

ycats1000 on 19 January, 2009 at 3:56 am #

cheap giveaways?

it costs $100,000USD and there’s a huge waiting list-

ImyManz99 on 21 January, 2009 at 7:50 am #

Tesla > Einstein.

ImyManz99 on 24 January, 2009 at 9:36 am #

Hahaha dream on everybody - these guys will sell out long before those 300 pound goons show up at their doorstep. Once this technology is the hands of the big corporations, we are back to square one. There are no cheap give-aways in life.

tucude on 24 January, 2009 at 11:57 am #

but, there is a root problem……they still need to sell Oil!!!!!
Maybe when the oil is over, or the prices get an unpraticable price….the massive prodution would be made!
Is the Ion-Litium battery sustentable?
how we can descart it when the car is not usable anymore!?? Do we have enough Litium avaliable? If we consume litium how expensive could it get????
Is not quite simple, but is the way!

bitchtastic on 24 January, 2009 at 1:36 pm #

I would be a little nervous about the fact that their representative thinks formula one and indy car chassis are made out of bonded aluminum structures.

mountaininthecity on 27 January, 2009 at 4:46 am #

Obviously English is not my strong point but you get the point.

mountaininthecity on 30 January, 2009 at 5:18 am #

In order to have electric cars to be a competative with combustion engine vehicles somebody (a company or the gov’t) are going to have to build new or convert older infrastructure to support a new fleet of vehicles. Everytime you flip the lights on in your house you pay an energy bill. Everytime you use the stove you are paying a gas utility bill. I can only hope “they’ll” set up Energy stations instead of more Gas stations. The key is lesser or no emissions and cheaper, renewable energy.

Iseeyoursoul on 31 January, 2009 at 5:17 pm #

Tesla wasn’t forgotten he was deliberately suppressed.
I find it strange how this guy can come forward all of a sudden and challenge the oil companies, there’s got to be some kind of control scheme here. This guy would be SHOT if he tried to cross the oil companies, so he must be connected AND supplying profits to those corporate interests.
Something about this is smells really bad. I bet you they’ll set up ENERGY stations instead of Gas stations. Yup…

darkarcra on 1 February, 2009 at 5:42 pm #

I don’t think the company has gone public, yet

splotsplot on 1 February, 2009 at 10:53 pm #

Absolutely true and those who can’t see that are blind. The I.C. engine is not that much different to a steam engine and in the years to come it will be viewed in the same way at museums. A noisey, heavy, complicated, inefficient, polluting lump of iron! Buy up shares now in any company involved with the design, development and production of electric motors!

100K, deal. Sign me up.

afleececooper on 7 February, 2009 at 1:06 pm #

Well at 2.7p per mile, and 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, it is kinda tempting :)
I love that electric car makers have woken up to the fact no one will like them until they out perform the best of petrol…

Just looking into the stats, there’s no way petrol can keep up with what’s coming… no physical gearbox (wheel drive), 96% efficient motors, massive torque from start… full charge in 10 mins (British Lightning tech) it’s the end for petrol within 10 years I reckon…

checkmybigboobs on 7 February, 2009 at 4:06 pm #

Or, like you have a reserve can with gasolin, you `ll have an extra battery.

ChrisPCrunchy on 10 February, 2009 at 1:54 am #

One problem! If you get a flat battery you are going to need some mighty long jumper leeds to get home.

Sashia48 on 12 February, 2009 at 10:56 am #

Exactly!! do you not know that 90% of ALL media is owned by only 5 entities? This is how they control public opinion. I’m surprised they’re still alive. Tessla died when he tried to prove and market his inventions because they would have destroyed current industries.

prebenso on 15 February, 2009 at 9:00 pm #

the EV1 did not die from lack of popularity

prebenso on 19 February, 2009 at 5:56 am #

Eh would less pollution be a good enough reason

TEMPESTSPARK on 20 February, 2009 at 11:26 pm #

Thanks ReisendeEuropa I’ll look into ‘regenerative braking’.

ReisendeEuropa on 24 February, 2009 at 7:25 am #

There are so many factors to consider with this. Motor load, wind resistance, mechanical resistance, and the fact that 30% power will still accelerate the car. You use about 2-7% to maintain average highway speeds. A study several years ago showed that a large American pickup truck only needed around 15 horsepower(roughly 12kw) to maintain 55mph. 53kWh/12kW=4.41h run time. At 55mph this equals 242.55mi. I’m guessing this is very close to what the Tesla uses.

gilessmokey on 27 February, 2009 at 7:27 am #

well at one third power the vehicle will be using 50kw and the battery capacity is 50kw/hour ie the battery can supply 50kw for one hour.
